the story of harvey pekar, the creator of an underground comic book called 'american splendor' that is autobiographical, is a very interesting take on the biopic. in it harvey is played by paul giamatti, but the real harvey shows up in interviews too. he comments on his own life and even on the film as its going. its a very chaotic life that harvey lead and his comics show that. the film does a great job of portraying the mood of the source material.
